Analytics Analyst

About the role

The Analytics Analyst will join Union Maritime’s rapidly expanding analytics team in Lagos, supporting commercial and strategic decisions in international shipping and maritime investment. This entry‑level position offers a graduate or early‑career professional the chance to learn the business from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain financial and analytical models for commercial opportunities such as vessel sales, financing, profit‑sharing, and maritime technology investments.
• Use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT) to gather data, draft formulas, test scenarios, and validate outputs.
• Collect, clean and analyse data from internal systems, market sources and industry databases.
• Automate routine data preparation and reporting using AI‑assisted and low‑code tools.
• Prepare clear presentations and summaries for internal stakeholders and senior management.
• Maintain up‑to‑date market research records and support review of term sheets and commercial documents.
• Assist in coordinating commercial projects, tracking actions and deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
• 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Curious, can‑do attitude and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
