Accounts Executive (Shipping & Logistics)

About the role

The Accounts Executive will support Sunrose Consulting Limited’s finance function within the shipping and logistics sector. The role involves managing both receivable and payable processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with local tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Process customer payments, verify refund requests, and manage collections to reduce outstanding balances.
• Reconcile client accounts, generate aging reports, and produce periodic client statements.
• Verify vendor invoices against purchase orders and shipping manifests, and reconcile supplier statements.
• Audit freight charges to ensure alignment with contracted carrier rates.
• Maintain the general ledger, record journal entries, and perform bank, cash, and credit‑card reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing profit & loss statements, cash‑flow forecasts, and monthly management reports.
• Ensure statutory compliance with VAT, withholding tax, and international trade finance regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• 2‑5 years of accounting experience, preferably in shipping, freight forwarding or supply‑chain environments.
• Familiarity with ocean‑freight documentation such as Bill of Lading and Sea Waybill.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with international agents, clients and internal logistics teams.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and meet multiple deadlines.
