Accountant – Retail & FMCG

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Accountant to join Kenex Konsults International in Abeokuta. The role supports our retail, fashion and FMCG operations by ensuring accurate financial records and providing insightful analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and cash‑flow activities.
• Perform bank reconciliations, process invoices, receipts, payment vouchers and journal entries.
• Oversee inventory accounting, reconcile physical stock, monitor COGS and support inventory audits.
• Reconcile daily sales, analyse sales trends, gross margins and product profitability.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow projections and tax compliance (VAT, PAYE, WHT, pension).
• Prepare financial schedules for internal and external audits and generate management reports.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and provide recommendations to improve profitability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting or related field.
• At least two years of accounting experience, preferably in FMCG, manufacturing, retail or distribution.
• Strong knowledge of financial, inventory and cost accounting.
• Good understanding of Nigerian tax laws and statutory reporting.
• Analytical, numerical and problem‑solving abilities.
