Accountant – Legal Services (Lekki, Lagos)

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to manage the financial operations of our legal practice in Lekki, Lagos. The role involves accurate reporting, tax compliance, budgeting and supporting strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and maintain the general ledger.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, process vendor payments and client receipts, and reconcile bank statements.
• Monitor cash flow, produce forecasts and support budgeting processes.
• File statutory tax returns (VAT, WHT, PAYE, Company Income Tax) and liaise with FIRS and LIRS.
• Develop and maintain internal financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Assist with internal and external audit preparation and respond to audit queries.
• Support payroll processing, maintain fixed‑asset registers and recommend cost‑saving initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Professional qualification: ICAN (required); ACCA or ANAN is a plus.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations, financial reporting standards and statutory compliance.
