Accountant

About the role

The Accountant will join Amgen Puerto Rico Inc’s finance team in Lagos, providing full‑time, on‑site support for financial reporting and compliance. This position is responsible for accurate bookkeeping, month‑end close, and delivering financial insights to aid business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain general ledger entries and ensure accurate transaction recording.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Perform regular reconciliations of balances and sub‑ledgers.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Support internal and external audit requirements.
• Monitor compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to provide financial insights.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and general ledger management.
• Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems, and solid Excel skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate records, perform reconciliations and support audit activities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA or ACCA is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization and time‑management abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior experience in a corporate or multinational environment, preferably in life‑sciences or manufacturing.
