Tax Manager

About the role

The Tax Manager will lead tax compliance for all PZ Cussons entities operating in Nigeria. This role ensures timely filing of withholding tax, VAT, and other statutory returns, while supporting tax matters in Kenya and Ghana. The position reports to senior finance leadership and works closely with tax authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file monthly withholding tax (WHT) returns for all entities, verify rates, reconcile reports, and process payments within a 7‑day deadline.
• Spool, review, and file monthly VAT returns for each entity, ensuring submission to the FIRS by the 21st of each month.
• Respond to demand notices, queries, and correspondence from the FIRS and state tax boards, maintaining a correspondence tracker.
• Apply for and obtain annual tax clearance certificates for all seven entities.
• Support first‑level review of tax computations for PZ Kenya and PZ Ghana, assisting with audits and refund claims.
• Prepare trend analyses, forecasts, and decks for tax planning and budgeting.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Accounting with ICAN/ACCA/CITN certification.
• Minimum 4‑5 years of relevant tax experience, preferably in an FMCG or multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws (CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE, Transfer Pricing) and solid understanding of accounting principles.
• Proficiency in SAP for tax reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
