Accountant – Finance & Reporting

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our finance team in Lagos. The role involves preparing financial statements, managing compliance and supporting payroll processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Maintain accurate general ledger records and process payments, receipts, invoices and journal entries.
• Perform bank reconciliations and manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare budgets, cash‑flow forecasts and management reports.
• File statutory returns (VAT, WHT, PAYE, Companies Income Tax) and ensure compliance with FIRS, LIRS, PenCom, NSITF and ITF.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and support payroll processing and statutory remittances.
• Maintain fixed‑asset and inventory records and ensure proper filing of financial documents.

Required profile

• HND in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on accounting experience, preferably in FMCG.
• ICAN or ACCA qualification (or part qualification with clear progression).
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, IFRS and statutory compliance.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software such as Zoho Books, QuickBooks or Sage.
