Accountant – Finance & Compliance

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Accountant to manage statutory payments, budgets, and financial compliance for our organization. The role involves maintaining accurate records, supporting audits, and providing financial insights to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain records of statutory payments, withholding tax, revenue remittances and other regulatory obligations.
• Prepare and monitor monthly budgets covering payroll, procurement and operational expenses.
• Manage petty cash disbursements and keep detailed transaction records.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local financial regulations, including Tax Clearance, NSITF, and pension obligations.
• Liaise with external auditors to produce annual audited financial statements and tax clearance documents.
• Organise and file all accounting and finance documents in both electronic and physical systems.
• Analyse financial data, recommend cost‑saving measures and support budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow planning.
• Provide assistance during internal and external audit exercises.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance operational efficiency.
• Perform any other finance or administrative duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• BSc in Accounting or Finance.
• 3–4 years of post‑NYSC experience.
• Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA or ICAN are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and organizational abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software – QuickBooks.
• Proficiency with accounting software – Sage 50.
