Account Director – Nigeria

About the role

Upstream is seeking an experienced Account Director to lead client relationships and drive growth in Nigeria. You will act as the primary point of contact for key telecom and digital service clients, ensuring satisfaction and long‑term partnership.

Key responsibilities

• Own client relationships, support the Regional Director in winning new business.
• Supervise assigned accounts, manage local partnerships and stakeholder engagement.
• Lead contract negotiations, oversee account P&L, invoicing and payment processes.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams (Sales, Pre‑Sales, Legal, Product, Project, Support) to deliver client objectives.
• Provide input on marketing campaigns, monitor ROI and align initiatives with client goals.
• Direct local operational resources to ensure timely delivery of client commitments.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of account management experience, preferably in telecom, technology, consulting, digital marketing or SaaS.
• Proven track record in the telecommunications sector with strong industry connections.
• Experience in customer journey mapping, customer success and B2B environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage account P&L, contracts and commercial negotiations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or a related field.
