TVRO & DSTV Technician

About the role

The company is seeking a hands‑on TVRO & DSTV Technician to install, align, commission and maintain satellite TV systems for commercial and offshore clients. This full‑time onsite role requires immediate response to faults and the ability to work independently on complex satellite installations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, align and commission TVRO and DSTV satellite dishes and antenna systems.
• Configure, maintain and troubleshoot DSTV decoders, receivers and smart cards.
• Diagnose and resolve satellite signal, picture quality and reception issues using signal meters and trackers.
• Maintain LNBs, coaxial cables (RG6/RG8), splitters, combiners, amplifiers and modulators.
• Carry out cabling and re‑cabling of TVRO/DSTV distribution networks.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and keep up‑to‑date system documentation.
• Support subscription renewals, service upgrades and provide technical assistance for Geo‑Stabilised TVRO systems on FPSO/FSO vessels.
• Respond to fault tickets and resolve onsite issues within a 24‑hour SLA.

Required profile

• OND (or equivalent) in Electronics, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience with TVRO, DSTV and satellite TV systems.
• Proven experience with satellite dish installation, antenna alignment and signal optimisation.
• Experience in commercial, industrial or oil‑and‑gas environments is an advantage.
• Offshore (FPSO/FSO) experience and safety certifications such as BOSIET/FOET are a plus.
• Willingness to be stationed at the assigned location and respond to technical faults as required.
