Technology Programme Manager

About the role

The Technology Programme Manager drives successful delivery of the organisation's technology programmes and projects, ensuring strategic alignment, effective governance, and measurable value realization. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, the role provides centralized oversight of the technology project portfolio and serves as the single point of accountability for programme health and executive reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage the enterprise‑wide technology programme and project portfolio, aligning initiatives with technology strategy, business priorities, and approved funding.
• Establish, maintain, and enforce programme and project management standards, frameworks, and governance structures appropriate for a lean organisation.
• Track and report on delivery milestones, schedule performance, budgets, and benefits realization while monitoring resource allocation.
• Identify, assess, and manage cross‑programme risks, interdependencies, and constraints, facilitating coordination across operations, digital, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams.
• Serve as the primary interface between delivery teams and senior technology leadership, preparing programme status, KPIs, and decision materials for the CTO and governance forums.
• Champion the adoption of agile, hybrid, and fit‑for‑purpose delivery approaches, supporting teams in applying practical agile principles within enterprise governance constraints.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing technology programmes or large‑scale project portfolios.
• Strong governance, risk, and issue management capabilities.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with senior leadership.
• Ability to work collaboratively with project leads from vendors, business units, and technology teams.
