Team Lead, Site Reliability Engineering

About the role

Moniepoint Inc. is seeking a Team Lead for Site Reliability Engineering to guide a squad responsible for the reliability of its highly distributed financial platform. The role blends strategic leadership with hands‑on technical work to ensure systems and teams scale with hyper‑growth.

Key responsibilities

• Set technical direction for the SRE team, architect self‑healing systems and define reliability standards.
• Define and enforce end‑to‑end visibility standards, guiding deep instrumentation (logging, tracing, metrics) and governing the monitoring ecosystem.
• Lead, mentor and grow a team of Senior and Associate SREs, conduct code reviews and facilitate technical workshops.
• Act as the ultimate escalation point for major incidents, refine incident management processes and ensure actionable RCAs.
• Partner with Engineering Managers and Product Leads to define Service Level Objectives aligned with business goals.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in SRE or Backend Engineering, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role mentoring others.
• Expert‑level proficiency in Java, Go, Rust or Python and mastery of distributed systems patterns.
• Deep expertise with Google Cloud Platform or AWS, and extensive experience running Kubernetes (GKE) at scale.
• Proven experience defining observability strategies and architecting telemetry stacks.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to de‑escalate high‑pressure situations.
