System Administrator

About the role

We are looking for a proactive System Administrator to join our IT team in Abuja. You will be responsible for maintaining the reliability and security of our Linux and Windows server environments while supporting user access and basic networking tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain Linux and/or Windows servers.
• Apply system updates, patches and perform routine maintenance.
• Monitor system performance, respond to alerts and maintain logs.
• Manage user accounts, permissions and enforce access controls.
• Perform regular backups, verify integrity and support data restoration.
• Assist with basic networking (DNS, DHCP, VPN, IP configuration) and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Document configurations, procedures and collaborate with IT, DevOps and development teams.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience as a System Administrator or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and/or Windows Server environments.
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
• Experience with system monitoring, backup and recovery processes.
• Basic scripting ability (Bash, PowerShell or Python is a plus).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) is advantageous.
