Supply Chain Officer – Humanitarian Response

About the role

The Supply Chain Officer will support Save the Children International’s humanitarian response in Borno by managing procurement, warehousing, stock, and fleet operations. The role ensures that goods and services are sourced and delivered cost‑effectively, on time, and in line with organisational and donor policies.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all procurement activities for the field office, following approved guidelines and procedures.
• Check local market availability and pricing, liaising with the country office when needed.
• Prepare weekly summaries of outstanding purchase requisitions and monthly reports on procurement and logistics performance.
• Monitor procurement and logistics costs with the Field Accountant to stay within budget.
• Maintain and update procurement and contract trackers at field level.
• Ensure meetings and conferences are organized efficiently and cost‑effectively.
• Uphold safeguarding standards, reporting concerns and promoting safe practices among suppliers.
• Maintain communication protocols, ensure equipment functionality, and report security incidents promptly.

Required profile

• Experience in supply chain, procurement, or logistics within an NGO or humanitarian setting.
• Understanding of donor procurement policies and safeguarding requirements.
• Ability to produce accurate reports and manage tracking tools.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
