Social Media Officer

About the role

We are looking for a Social Media Officer to develop and execute our social media strategy across multiple platforms, driving brand awareness and supporting retail sales initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a social media content calendar for Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, TikTok and WhatsApp.
• Create and curate engaging posts, reels, stories and promotions that reflect the organisation’s brand voice.
• Grow follower numbers and increase engagement through targeted campaigns and community management.
• Monitor social media trends, competitor activity and audience insights to inform content strategy.
• Coordinate with the marketing team to align online campaigns with in‑store promotions and product launches.
• Respond to customer inquiries and feedback on social media platforms promptly and professionally.
• Prepare regular reports on social media metrics and campaign outcomes for the Head of Sales.
• Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to support market expansion initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• At least an HND in a related field.
• Strong retail operations and people‑management skills.
• Commercial awareness with ability to translate marketing activity into measurable sales results.
• Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

Required skills

• Proficiency with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, WhatsApp).
• Content creation tools and basic analytics (Meta Insights, Google Analytics).
• Microsoft Office Suite.
• Basic design tools such as Canva (advantage).
