Social and Behavioral Change Lead

About the role

The Social and Behavioral Change (SBC) Lead will design and drive the demand‑creation strategy for a national malaria ITN campaign, ensuring that messaging reaches communities before, during and after net distribution. This senior position works closely with the National Malaria Programme, MSH leadership and implementing partners to achieve campaign objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the SBC strategy, define objectives, target audiences, key behaviours and channel mix for each campaign phase.
• Integrate SBC planning with micro‑planning, logistics and training timelines.
• Oversee pre‑campaign sensitisation, community mobilisation, mass‑media and digital outreach.
• Recruit, train and manage community mobilisers, town announcers and volunteers.
• Coordinate on‑site messaging, hang‑up demonstrations and net‑care guidance at distribution points.
• Lead post‑distribution activities, including household follow‑up, net‑utilisation checks and rumour‑tracking.
• Develop monitoring indicators, track reach and quality, and produce regular progress reports.
• Manage the SBC component of the campaign budget and ensure compliance with funding requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, communication, social sciences or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 7+ years experience designing and managing SBC, social mobilisation or health communication programmes, preferably in malaria or ITN campaigns.
• Proven experience coordinating large‑scale community mobilisation structures.
• Strong analytical, reporting and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently to remote districts and states.
