Senior Transport Design Engineer – Transportation Projects

About the role

We are looking for a motivated, detail‑oriented Senior Transport Design Engineer to join our Transportation Department in Abuja. The role involves leading the design and delivery of road and railway infrastructure projects while ensuring compliance with Nigerian, Euro and AASHTO standards and strict health‑and‑safety policies.

Key responsibilities

• Design railway track alignment, formations, stations and yard layouts, coordinating with drainage, hydrology and structural designs.
• Develop road designs in line with Nigerian and AASHTO standards, covering geometry, pavement, signage and integration with bridges and drainage.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications and reports, and generate design quantities.
• Coordinate design briefs, analysis reports and engineering calculations, and validate designs from other stakeholders.
• Conduct site visits with the supervision team and monitor design progress, updating schedules and documentation.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in transport infrastructure design, both railway and road projects.
• Strong understanding of Nigerian, Euro and AASHTO design standards and related health‑and‑safety procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D and InfraWorks.
• Experience using alignment design tools and vehicle swept‑path analysis.
• Knowledge of railway track alignment design and road geometry, pavement design and signage standards.
• Ability to produce technical drawings, specifications and quantity calculations.
