Senior SRH Officer – Capacity Building

About the role

The Senior SRH Officer will provide technical support, capacity building, quality assurance and implementation follow‑up for IRC’s Impact@Scale project, strengthening sexual and reproductive health services in government primary health centres and IRC static facilities across Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Build the capacity of health workers in government primary health centres and IRC static facilities to implement Impact@Scale interventions for voluntary contraception access and postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) prevention using the E‑MOTIVE bundle.
• Plan, facilitate and follow‑up competency‑based training, on‑the‑job coaching, clinical mentorship, simulation drills and supportive supervision for facility teams.
• Strengthen provider skills in family planning counselling, method provision, infection prevention, maternal and newborn care, safe delivery, BEmONC and CEmONC referral coordination.
• Conduct routine quality‑assurance visits, develop facility‑specific action plans and monitor commodity, drug, equipment and referral readiness.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in sexual and reproductive health (SRH) service delivery and capacity‑building in humanitarian settings.
• Proven ability to work with government health authorities, local partners and IRC teams to improve health system performance.
• Strong knowledge of the E‑MOTIVE bundle, family planning, postpartum haemorrhage management and maternal‑newborn health protocols.
