Senior SME Loan Officer

About the role

The Senior SME Loan Officer will lead the acquisition and management of small‑and‑medium‑enterprise loan portfolios for Alert Group. This role combines client relationship building with rigorous credit analysis to drive growth while maintaining portfolio quality.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, prospect, and onboard new SME clients to expand the loan portfolio.
• Assess and analyze loan applications, reviewing financial statements, cash flow, and creditworthiness.
• Structure loan proposals in line with the company’s credit policies and risk appetite.
• Conduct site visits and due‑diligence to validate client information and business operations.
• Manage the end‑to‑end loan process from origination through disbursement.
• Monitor existing loan accounts to ensure timely repayment and portfolio quality.
• Proactively follow up on repayments and manage delinquent accounts to minimize defaults.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with SME clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
• Prepare and present credit reports and recommendations to the credit committee.
• Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and SME sector developments.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years proven experience in SME lending or credit analysis.
• Minimum of an HND in a related field.
