Senior Program Officer – Nigeria Project Lead, Innovations for Oxygen Access

About the role

PATH is seeking a Senior Program Officer to lead the implementation of the INNOVATE project in Nigeria. The role focuses on expanding access to safe, reliable oxygen therapy by coordinating technology pilots, business model pilots, and stakeholder engagement across the health system.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all project activities in Nigeria, ensuring alignment with Ministry of Health priorities.
• Build and maintain relationships with government officials, local decision‑makers, and regional influencers; maintain policy and stakeholder maps.
• Oversee the national project launch, co‑develop scale‑up and sustainability plans with partners.
• Design and manage community outreach, including establishing a Community Advisory Board.
• Manage technology pilots: obtain local IRB approvals, train health‑care workers, run pilots, collect and analyse data.
• Manage business model pilots: coordinate IRB processes, engage private and public partners, oversee data collection and reporting.
• Support product registration and capacity building for new oxygen solutions.
• Lead or contribute to publications, knowledge products, and dissemination at national, regional, and global levels.

Required profile

• Minimum Master’s degree in public health, science, medicine, or business administration.
• Significant experience managing health‑sector programs or projects in low‑ and middle‑income settings.
• Proven ability to work with ministries of health and multi‑sector partners.
• Experience overseeing pilot studies, IRB processes, and data‑driven decision making.
