Senior Officer, Inbound Logistics

About the role

Dangote Cement Plc seeks a motivated Senior Officer to coordinate and monitor the efficient movement of inbound materials, spare parts, equipment, fuels and other supplies from suppliers, ports, warehouses and distribution points to plant locations. The role ensures timely deliveries, optimises transportation costs and maintains supply continuity while complying with company policies and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound transportation activities, monitor shipment schedules and proactively address delays.
• Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, clearing agents and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth material flow.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Stores, Production and Maintenance to align deliveries with operational needs.
• Verify shipping documents, customs paperwork and maintain accurate logistics records for audit purposes.
• Monitor logistics metrics such as delivery performance, transportation costs and lead times, preparing weekly and monthly reports.
• Serve as primary contact for internal departments on shipment status and manage vendor performance evaluations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Transport Management, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation or warehouse operations, preferably in manufacturing, cement, mining or heavy industry.
• Strong organisational, communication and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
