Senior Lecturer - Nursing Sciences

About the role

The Senior Lecturer in Nursing Sciences will join the Department of Nursing at Nile University in Abuja. Reporting to the Head of Department, the role involves delivering high‑quality teaching, developing curricula and contributing to the university’s research agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops and seminars for nursing programmes.
• Design and update curricula and course materials across multiple platforms.
• Set, grade and provide feedback on assignments, tests and examinations.
• Conduct and publish research, write proposals and supervise student projects.
• Collaborate with fellow academics to enhance teaching methods and expand the knowledge base.
• Participate in departmental meetings, conferences and professional development activities.
• Provide academic support and mentorship to students and junior staff.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in a relevant nursing or health‑related discipline.
• Minimum six years of experience in teaching, research and academic administration.
• At least seven peer‑reviewed publications and a proven record of securing research funding.
• Affiliation with a professional nursing or academic body.
• Excellent written and oral communication, time‑management and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using video‑conferencing tools such as Microsoft Teams.
