Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer

About the role

Cellulant is looking for a senior full‑stack software engineer to design, build and maintain high‑performance web applications that support its pan‑African payments platform. The role combines front‑end UI development with back‑end service creation, while providing technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable full‑stack applications using React, TypeScript and Java/Spring Boot.
• Develop efficient, lock‑free SQL queries and optimise performance for fast loading times.
• Build secure APIs and ensure high‑traffic readiness with monitoring tools such as Datadog.
• Collaborate with product designers and backend engineers, participate in sprint ceremonies and lead task refinements as the tech owner.
• Own end‑to‑end debugging of production issues and manage CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in both front‑end and back‑end development.
• Proven track record of delivering high‑quality user interfaces and mentoring engineers.
• Strong written and verbal communication, self‑managed and proactive work style.

Required skills

• React, TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS‑in‑JS.
• Java, Spring Boot.
• SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL or MSSQL).
• Git version control.
• CI/CD pipelines, Datadog, basic AWS knowledge.
