Senior Engineering Associate

About the role

The Senior Engineering Associate will lead the company’s power consulting and investment planning activities in Lagos, Nigeria. Working in a hybrid environment, the role combines technical leadership, project development, and team management to deliver renewable energy solutions for community sites.

Key responsibilities

• Manage junior engineers and oversee day‑to‑day project execution.
• Identify and evaluate community sites for renewable energy projects, delivering at least three new projects per year.
• Develop generation architecture, power evacuation, and distribution network designs for renewable energy installations.
• Conduct energy system policy analysis, simulation, and optimization studies, including energy audits and engineering design of production facilities.
• Support climate change consulting initiatives, focusing on mitigation and capacity building.

Required profile

• Strong leadership and people‑management capabilities.
• Analytical mindset with proven ability to provide evidence‑based recommendations.
• Experience working independently in a hybrid setting and managing tasks with limited supervision.
• Background in electrical engineering, energy, or environmental projects, with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HOMER Pro simulation software.
• Advanced use of AutoCAD Electrical.
• Experience using ETAP or comparable power system analysis tools.
