Senior Associate – Investment Banking

About the role

Pathway Advisors Limited is expanding its Investment Banking team in Lagos. We are looking for a Senior Associate who will drive the execution of M&A, capital raising and advisory transactions, working closely with senior bankers and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day execution of M&A, equity and debt capital raising deals from origination support to closing.
• Build and review complex financial models, including DCF, LBO, merger and comparable analyses.
• Prepare pitch books, information memoranda, management presentations and other client‑facing deliverables.
• Conduct industry, market and company research to support deal theses and client recommendations.
• Coordinate due‑diligence processes with legal counsel, accountants and third‑party advisors.
• Manage and mentor analysts and junior associates, reviewing their work and supporting technical development.
• Act as primary liaison between clients, senior bankers and counterparties to ensure smooth transaction flow.
• Support business development and origination efforts through client pitching and market outreach.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in an investment bank or the Transaction Advisory/Deal Advisory practice of a Big Four firm.
• Demonstrable involvement in completed M&A, ECM or DCM transactions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced financial modelling (DCF, LBO, merger consequences, accretion/dilution).
• Deep understanding of valuation methodologies and corporate finance principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Solid grasp of financial statements, accounting concepts and deal structuring.
