Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to lead financial accounting and reporting for our construction projects in Lagos. The role will ensure accurate month‑end and year‑end close, maintain robust internal controls, and support project cost management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial statements, ensuring accurate general ledger management and reconciliations.
• Oversee month‑end and year‑end closing processes, including tax compliance and statutory reporting.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions, guaranteeing timely payments and proper deductions.
• Support project cost tracking, work with Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors on cost control, and monitor revenue recognition.
• Supervise Junior Accountants and Bookkeepers, providing coaching and improving accounting processes and documentation.

Required profile

• BSc in Accounting, Finance or related field with ICAN/ACCA certification.
• 5–8 years of accounting experience, including senior or supervisory roles, preferably in construction or project‑based environments.
• Strong analytical mindset, high integrity, and proactive problem‑solving attitude.
