Senior Accountant (Full‑Time) – Lagos

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to oversee the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, tax compliance, reconciliations and statutory financial obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and reconciliations.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and management accounts.
• Monitor cash flow, budgets, expenses and overall financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax laws, file VAT, WHT, PAYE and Companies Income Tax returns.
• Coordinate with tax consultants, auditors and regulatory authorities as required.
• Assist in annual budgeting, financial forecasts and variance analysis.
• Establish and maintain effective financial controls to prevent errors and fraud.
• Supervise junior accounting staff and support payroll processing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA or ACA (or advanced stage).
• 4–7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a structured organization.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax legislation and statutory compliance.
• Hands‑on experience with VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT filings and tax reconciliations.
• Proficiency with accounting software/ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
