Security Operative – Hotel Security

About the role

The Security Operative safeguards guests, employees, visitors and assets of a luxury hotel by maintaining a visible presence, controlling access, monitoring activities and responding swiftly to incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Protect guests, employees and assets by maintaining a visible security presence.
• Conduct regular patrols of guest floors, public areas, parking, back‑of‑house and perimeter.
• Monitor and control access points, verify identification and enforce visitor registration procedures.
• Screen baggage and vehicles using approved equipment and report any prohibited items.
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, disturbances and assist with evacuation and medical incidents.
• Maintain accurate patrol logs, incident reports and daily shift reports.
• Support fire safety by inspecting exits, identifying hazards and assisting during drills.
• Assist in loss prevention by observing suspicious activity and reporting theft or damage.

Required profile

• Minimum Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
• Preferably a National Diploma or HND in Security Management, Criminology or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in hotel or corporate security, law enforcement or military.
• First Aid, Fire Safety and basic Occupational Health & Safety certifications are preferred.
