Sanitary Inspector

About the role

The Sanitary Inspector will ensure high standards of environmental health, workplace hygiene, food safety, waste management and sanitation across the refinery facilities and surrounding communities.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect workplaces, communities, kitchens, food establishments and sanitation facilities for compliance with public health regulations.
• Monitor waste collection, segregation, disposal, drainage and sewage systems, and verify potable water quality.
• Collect water, food and environmental samples for laboratory analysis and report non‑compliance to the Occupational Health Coordinator.
• Supervise pest‑control activities, conduct rodent, insect and mosquito breeding assessments, and oversee fumigation and fogging.
• Provide training on hygiene, sanitation, waste management and food safety; develop posters, SOPs and awareness materials.
• Maintain inspection registers, photographic evidence, checklists and compliance documentation; submit regular sanitation reports.

Required profile

• Diploma in Sanitary Inspection, Environmental Health or Public Health Technology.
• Preferred B.Sc in Environmental Health or Environmental Science.
• Training in food safety or waste management is advantageous.
