About the role
BREMER is looking for a full‑time Regulatory M&A Lawyer to join its Lagos office. The successful candidate will advise clients on regulatory compliance and requirements related to merger control, foreign direct investment and other M&A‑related matters in Nigeria and the wider ECOWAS region.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on merger control, FDI screening and other regulatory aspects of M&A transactions.
- Analyse complex legal and regulatory frameworks and assess their impact on deal structures.
- Draft and review legal documents, including transaction agreements and regulatory filings.
- Liaise with Nigerian and regional regulatory authorities to obtain approvals and ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver integrated legal solutions.
- Support cross‑border transactions involving foreign jurisdictions and regional merger control regimes.
Required profile
- Strong expertise in transaction‑related regulatory matters, especially merger control and FDI screening under Nigerian law and ECOWAS regulations.
- Excellent analytical abilities to evaluate regulatory implications for deal flow.
- Effective communication skills for presenting complex legal concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience in M&A transactions, antitrust matters and corporate law is a significant asset.
- Proven ability to maintain client relationships and deliver results under tight deadlines.
- Licensed to practice law in Nigeria.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills are advantageous.
