Railway Infrastructure Design Manager

About the role

The Railway Infrastructure Design Manager will lead consultancy projects for the new standard gauge railway system in Nigeria. Reporting to the Technical Director, the role coordinates an international team of expat and local engineers to ensure the design drawings prepared by the Contractor meet international standards and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Vet and check design drawings against international standards before construction.
• Issue regular technical comments based on design vetting activities.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including alignment, permanent way, structures, hydraulics, geotechnics, buildings, MEP and technological systems.
• Conduct interactive technical meetings with the Contractor and the Client.
• Perform periodic site visits in coordination with the on‑site work supervision team.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Civil, Transport or Railway Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience on similar railway infrastructure projects.
• Fluent English, both spoken and written.
• Strong knowledge of international standards such as BS and Eurocode.
• Proven experience in design coordination for railway projects.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proactive, goal‑oriented attitude with the capacity to work under tight schedules.
