Quantity Surveyor – Construction Cost Management

About the role

Kenex Konsults International is looking for an entry‑level Quantity Surveyor to join its construction team in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The successful candidate will prepare cost estimates, manage tender documentation and support cost control from concept to project completion.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and tender documents.
• Develop project budgets and cost plans and conduct feasibility studies.
• Perform material take‑offs and estimate labour, equipment and material costs.
• Evaluate contractor and supplier bids, assist in contract negotiations and procurement.
• Administer construction contracts, monitor variations, claims and change orders.
• Produce regular cost reports, forecasts and certify interim payment applications.
• Prepare final accounts, reconcile expenditures and identify value‑engineering opportunities.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers and contractors on cost‑effective delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Building Technology or related field.
• Approximately two years of relevant experience in quantity surveying or construction cost management.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, procurement processes and contract administration.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with estimating software such as CostX, WinQS, PlanSwift or Cubit.
