Quality Control Manager

About the role

The client, a leading player in the steel and mining sector, seeks an experienced Quality Control Manager to lead the QC function. The role involves ensuring compliance with ISO and customer standards, driving quality assurance initiatives, and overseeing welding and material testing to support operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve quality control policies, procedures and systems.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, NEN‑ISO, customer and regulatory quality standards.
• Coordinate welding inspections, material testing and qualification of welding procedures.
• Lead, mentor and supervise the Quality Control team, managing performance and training needs.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis on quality issues and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Prepare periodic quality performance reports and present recommendations to executive management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
• 10‑15 years of experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance within steel, mining, heavy manufacturing or fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of ISO quality management systems and welding inspection standards.
• Proven experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives and managing quality management systems.
• Excellent leadership, analytical and stakeholder management abilities.
