About the role
Our client is seeking to hire a Quality Assurance Manager to oversee quality standards and related objectives across production. The role focuses on ensuring daily quality standards are consistently met, maintaining regulatory and food safety compliance, developing the QA team, and driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure daily quality standards are consistently met across production.
- Assist in planning and implementing training programmes for the QA team, Production team, and other relevant personnel.
- Support regulatory affairs functions and ensure compliance with relevant Nigerian requirements and accreditations, including NAFDAC, NIS, HACCP, ISO, and FSSC 22000.
- Ensure company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) meet applicable Nigerian Industrial Standards.
- Maintain documentation and records in accordance with ISO 22000/FSSC 22000 Food Safety Management System requirements.
- Monitor quality, production outputs, efficiencies, and wastage to ensure daily targets are achieved.
- Promote a strong Customer‑is‑King quality culture across the organisation.
- Actively promote an Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) culture in the workplace.
- Manage quality‑related costs within approved budget and target levels.
- Support recruitment, selection, and replacement of QA personnel when required.
- Assist with New Product Development (NPD) activities as needed.
- Develop QA plans and contribute to annual strategic planning and budgeting.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and provide practical solutions to workplace challenges.
- Lead, train, and develop QA personnel while promoting teamwork across QA, Production, and the wider organisation.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree/HND in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related technical/science discipline.
- Minimum of 5–6 years’ relevant experience in Quality Assurance, preferably in food processing and dairy industry.
- Strong practical technical experience in food processing and quality assurance.
- Basic training/certification in quality‑related fields, particularly HACCP.
- Good knowledge of Food Safety Management Systems, including ISO 22000 and FSSC 22000.
- Knowledge of Nigerian regulatory and quality requirements such as NAFDAC, NIS, HACCP, and ISO standards.
Required skills
