QA/QC Officer

About the role

The QA/QC Officer will lead the development and maintenance of quality assurance and control processes for our construction projects in Port Harcourt. You will ensure that raw materials, work‑in‑progress, and finished products meet the required standards and support continuous improvement across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain QA/QC procedures and documentation.
• Conduct inspections and quality tests on raw materials, in‑process work and final products.
• Identify non‑conformities, recommend corrective and preventive actions, and monitor their implementation.
• Maintain quality records, inspection reports and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other regulatory standards.
• Investigate customer complaints, support root‑cause analysis and drive resolution.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, procurement and other departments to improve quality performance.
• Participate in internal and external audits and ensure audit readiness.
• Monitor calibration of inspection equipment and deliver quality awareness training when required.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Quality Management, Manufacturing or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control within the construction or manufacturing sector.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems, documentation procedures and industry standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management system.
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram.
• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Use of quality management software for inspections and reporting.
