Project Electrical Engineer

About the role

The Project Electrical Engineer will lead the installation, commissioning and integration of high‑ and medium‑voltage power infrastructure and automation systems for a large manufacturing facility.

Key responsibilities

• Manage installation and commissioning of substations, transformers, switchgear and power generation equipment.
• Oversee plant automation deployment, ensuring SCADA, PLC panels and field instruments communicate seamlessly.
• Supervise industrial cabling, motor control centres, earthing and lightning protection across the site.
• Lead pre‑commissioning tests, insulation resistance checks and relay coordination to guarantee electrical safety.
• Coordinate electrical sub‑contractors and OEM engineers during critical integration phases.
• Conduct load calculations, demand analysis and power quality monitoring.
• Oversee backup power solutions including generators, UPS and battery systems.
• Validate PLC programming, SCADA configurations and perform site acceptance testing.
• Enforce LOTO procedures, arc‑flash protection and all regulatory compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Electrical, Electronic or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Professional registration (COREN/NSE) highly preferred.
• At least 8 years of experience in industrial electrical projects, power distribution design or automation commissioning in high‑speed continuous manufacturing.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on safety and system reliability.

Required skills

• High/Medium voltage substation setup, transformer and switchgear installation.
• SCADA, PLC (Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell) and industrial network integration.
• ETAP, AutoCAD Electrical, SAP PS for project management.
• Power load calculation, protection and relay coordination.
• High‑voltage testing, insulation resistance testing, harmonics and voltage stability monitoring.
• Instrumentation installation, calibration and control loop integration.
