About the role

The American University of Nigeria seeks a senior faculty member to join its School of Information Technology & Computing. The professor will lead teaching, research and community service initiatives, preparing students to become practical, critical thinkers and problem solvers.

Key responsibilities

• Teaching: deliver courses, enforce class attendance, provide academic advising, and participate in departmental meetings and college‑wide academic functions.
• Research: conduct scholarly research, publish in reputable journals, and supervise undergraduate, master’s and PhD research projects.
• Community Service: contribute to university‑wide service and development activities as directed by the Dean.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering or Cybersecurity from a reputable university.
• Minimum twelve (12) years of university teaching, research, post‑doctoral or relevant industry experience after the Ph.D.
• Demonstrated leadership in university governance, curriculum development and faculty mentorship.
• Internationally recognized record of excellence in scholarship, teaching and academic leadership.
• Extensive experience supervising undergraduate, master’s and PhD students.
• Evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals.
