Production Optimization and Digitalization Engineer

About the role

The Production Optimization and Digitalization Engineer will work on‑site in Benin City, analysing production data from oil and gas assets and delivering digital solutions that boost output and efficiency. The role bridges field devices, production systems and decision‑support tools to drive operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse production data, identify bottlenecks and propose optimisation strategies.
• Design, implement and maintain digital and automation workflows linking field devices, SCADA and real‑time data platforms.
• Build and maintain production models, monitor network performance and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Collaborate with subsurface, production and IT teams to align solutions with safety, regulatory and environmental standards.
• Document technical solutions, prepare reports and dashboards for stakeholders.
• Support technology pilots and ensure continuous improvement of optimisation initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong background in optimisation and network optimisation for production systems.
• Solid analytical ability to interpret large data sets.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or MATLAB.
• Understanding of wireless technologies and field communication systems used in oilfield digitalisation.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience in production engineering, production surveillance or asset optimisation.
• Familiarity with SCADA, industrial automation, IoT devices and real‑time data platforms is an advantage.
• Knowledge of reservoir and production concepts for clastic and carbonate fields is beneficial.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
