Production and Quality Controls Manager – Prefabricated Modular Construction

About the role

The Production and Quality Controls Manager will lead both production and quality assurance activities for Karmod’s prefabricated modular construction business in Nigeria. The role ensures safe, on‑time fabrication of modular components, compliance with technical specifications, and continuous improvement of processes.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and coordinate end‑to‑end production of off‑site modular components, including capacity planning and resource allocation.
• Develop and maintain production workflows, KPIs (throughput, OEE, cycle time, on‑time delivery) and implement lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S and Kaizen.
• Monitor production costs, waste, scrap and inventory, driving cost‑saving measures while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.
• Establish and operate a comprehensive quality management system, overseeing incoming material inspection, in‑process checks, final testing and non‑conformance handling.
• Lead corrective and preventive actions, root‑cause analysis and CAPA to reduce defects and improve product quality.
• Manage calibration and traceability of metrology and testing equipment and prepare quality dashboards and audit reports.
• Coach, develop and retain production and QC teams, fostering a culture of safety, quality and accountability.
• Liaise with clients, project managers, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors to align expectations and deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Industrial Engineering or related field; professional certifications (Six Sigma, Lean, CQE, CQA) are a plus.
• 5–8 years of progressive experience in production management and quality control within modular construction, prefabrication or similar manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of modular construction processes, fit‑out, assembly and on‑site commissioning.
• Proven ability to implement lean tools, continuous improvement programs and manage ERP/MRP or MES systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and cross‑functional communication skills.
