Product Design Lead

About the role

As the Product Design Lead at Moniepoint, you will own the execution of the company’s design vision while managing a small, cross‑functional design team. You will balance strategic leadership with hands‑on design work to deliver business‑driven, user‑centred solutions that scale across the fintech ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a small team of product designers, ensuring project prioritisation, alignment and timely delivery of high‑quality design work.
• Mentor and inspire designers through regular critiques, coaching sessions and skill‑development initiatives.
• Maintain a hands‑on role by contributing directly to key design projects while overseeing overall design workflow.
• Partner with product managers, engineers and executives to translate strategic goals into user‑friendly design solutions.
• Champion accessibility and inclusive design, ensuring products are usable by a diverse audience.
• Leverage design systems and atomic design principles to ensure consistency and scalability.

Required profile

• Strong portfolio demonstrating leadership of design teams and end‑to‑end product design across platforms, backed by user research and measurable impact.
• Proven experience building and developing design teams, fostering collaboration, mentorship and performance‑driven growth.
• Deep expertise in UX/UI principles, interaction design and user‑research methodologies with a track record of delivering results‑driven digital products.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, able to influence cross‑functional teams and advocate for design at all levels.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to translate product goals into scalable, flexible, user‑centric design solutions.
