Product Auditor – Fintech Risk & Controls
Moniepoint Group
Job description
About the role
Moniepoint is seeking a Product Auditor to provide independent assurance over the design, implementation and operating effectiveness of product controls across its payment, wallet, settlement and related systems. You will evaluate product risk exposure and control maturity before products scale, safeguarding the organisation against revenue leakage, settlement failures and regulatory breaches.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain a living Product Audit Universe and own the annual risk‑based audit plan, allocating coverage dynamically based on risk ratings, product complexity and regulatory sensitivity.
- Review PRDs, business rules and transaction workflows to identify logic gaps and provide formal control design sign‑off before go‑live.
- Conduct continuous live product assessments to detect configuration drift and emerging risk patterns.
- Execute mandatory pre‑production audit reviews as an independent control gate for material releases.
- Validate fee engine calculations, transaction integrity and settlement ledger synchronisation using advanced SQL queries.
- Audit product change management, vendor‑managed components and third‑party API risks.
- Lead incident RCA reviews, ensure regulatory compliance (CBN, PCI DSS, NDPR) and prepare risk‑rated audit reports for senior management.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance or a related quantitative discipline.
- 3–5+ years of experience in product audit, systems audit, financial data analytics or payment operations within a fintech or financial services environment.
- Relevant certifications such as CISA, CIA, CFE or ACA/ACCA combined with strong technical product experience.
Required skills
- Advanced SQL for data extraction and transaction interrogation (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL).
- Deep understanding of payment systems architecture – wallets, card processing, settlement and reconciliation.
- API and integration literacy (basic).
- PRD and process‑flow analysis, translating documentation into control flowcharts.
- Mathematical precision for fee calculations, interest computations and split‑payment structures.
- Pattern recognition to detect anomalies in large transaction datasets.
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets.
- Claude or other AI tools for analytical support.
What we offer
- A people‑first culture that prioritises well‑being, teamwork and continuous learning.
- Opportunities for growth through knowledge sharing, training and mentorship.
- Competitive salary, pension, health insurance, annual bonus and additional benefits.
