Procurement Officer

About the role

Castel Resources is looking for a Procurement Officer to lead supplier sourcing, price negotiation and inventory management for its shipping and logistics operations in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The role involves ensuring cost‑effective procurement while maintaining compliance with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Source qualified suppliers and negotiate competitive prices.
• Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders.
• Evaluate supplier quotations and recommend cost‑effective solutions.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate timely replenishment.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve procurement‑related issues.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
• Prepare procurement reports and expenditure analysis.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
• Good understanding of procurement processes and inventory management.
• Excellent organizational, analytical and deadline‑driven work habits.
• Female candidate required.
• Membership of a procurement professional body is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
