Principal Private Secretary to the Managing Director

About the role

Brendan Nicholas Holdings, a permanent-capital holding company in Abuja, is appointing a Principal Private Secretary to run the Managing Director's office and private affairs. The role is on site and requires the candidate to live in Abuja or relocate there before starting.

Key responsibilities

• Own the Managing Director's diary and decide who sees him.
• Decide what reaches his desk and in what form.
• Write in his name to a standard that needs only light correction.
• Hold his senior relationships with government, regulators, banks and development finance institutions.
• Stand in for him in rooms he cannot attend.
• Warn him plainly and early when he is about to make a mistake.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience, including at least 4 years at senior level running or acting for a principal's office.
• Named instances of acting for a principal.
• Residence in Abuja or a funded plan to relocate before starting; a valid driving licence.

Required skills

• Personal command of a principal's diary, correspondence and briefing.
• Use of modern AI tools in day-to-day work.
