Principal Mobile Engineer (POS Terminal)

About the role

Moniepoint is seeking a Principal Mobile Engineer to lead the design and architecture of its POS terminal solutions across multiple platforms. You will ensure security, scalability, performance and reliability of both hardware and software components, while guiding a team of engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture of Android‑based POS terminals and related mobile applications.
• Define and maintain architectural documentation, diagrams and best‑practice guidelines.
• Make critical decisions on integration of EMV standards, payment processors and peripheral hardware.
• Optimize system performance, security and reliability for payment processing.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor engineers and drive engineering process improvements.

Required profile

• At least 8 years of experience in system design, architecture and development within the POS domain.
• Strong expertise in Android native development (Java/Kotlin) and deep understanding of Android‑based POS solutions.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑platform technologies and hardware integration.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
