About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our British International School in Ikeja, Lagos. The role supports the lead teacher in delivering a safe, nurturing and engaging early‑years environment for the Topaz (2½‑3½ years) and Opal (3½‑4½ years) groups.

Key responsibilities

Assist the lead teacher with classroom routines, learning activities and age‑appropriate experiences.
Support children’s participation, communication, early literacy and overall development through suitable activities.
Observe individual children’s needs and communicate observations to the lead teacher.
Apply the EYFS framework in daily classroom practice.
Maintain an organised classroom environment and foster positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents.

Required profile

Minimum NCE/OND in Early Childhood Education or related field.
At least 1 year of relevant experience.
Professionalism, strong sense of responsibility and commitment to high standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Positive, organised and student‑focused attitude.
