About the role
We are seeking a Physics Expert to design, solve, and document challenging physics problems that will be used to evaluate large language models. This is a remote, short‑term contract role that requires close collaboration with LLM researchers and the creation of clear, step‑by‑step solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Design and solve advanced physics problems for LLM evaluation benchmarks.
- Produce detailed, step‑by‑step solutions with thorough reasoning.
- Collaborate with researchers to develop new undergraduate‑to‑PhD‑level benchmarks.
- Analyze complex physics scenarios using a logical, structured approach.
- Explain physics concepts clearly using simple language, visuals, and reasoning.
Required profile
- Master’s, Ph.D., or currently pursuing a Ph.D./Postdoctoral degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or a related field.
- Strong research and analytical abilities.
- Creative and lateral thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration capabilities in a remote environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency in at least three of the following tools: QuTiP, OQuPy, QuSpin, TenPy, Strawberry Fields, openEMS, ngspice, Quantum ESPRESSO, OpenFOAM, FEniCS/FEniCSx (DOLFINx), WarpX, REBOUND, PYTHIA, Kwant, Elmer FEM, GF180MCU PDK, Sky130 PDK, FreeCAD, Project Chrono, Scilab Xcos, volare, emcee, Icarus Verilog, GTKWave, Verilator, gmsh, pyarmadillo, MeshLab.
What we offer
- Compensation of $450 per approved task.
- Short‑term contract lasting 11 weeks with immediate start.
- Remote work with an 8‑hour daily commitment and a required 4‑hour overlap with PST.
