Operations Manager – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a driven Operations Manager to run back‑office operations for US startup founders, covering HR, payroll, finance and compliance. You will work remotely, partnering with a Chief Chore Officer and directly with founders to keep multiple client back‑offices running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operational tasks for multiple client accounts, including HR, payroll, finance and compliance.
• Coordinate with accountants, vendors and regulators to resolve tax filings, NDAs and other tactical issues.
• Provide strategic advice to founders on compensation benchmarks, budgeting and operational best practices.
• Research and recommend cost‑effective tools and vendors for early‑stage, bootstrapped startups.
• Contribute to internal knowledge base and build SOPs, dashboards and process improvements.
• Lead internal projects that enhance Chore’s operational systems.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience interfacing with clients or external parties, with responsibility for outcomes.
• Strong written and spoken communication, able to present clearly to founders.
• High agency and ability to solve problems independently without waiting for direction.
• Detail‑oriented, comfortable switching contexts under pressure.
• Willingness to work US business hours (EST or PST) consistently.

• Salary $15.6k USD/year (India/Africa) or $18k USD/year (LATAM) with quarterly bonuses up to 30 % based on performance.
