About the role

The Nurse, Nutrition will manage acute malnutrition cases within basic health services, following national and international guidelines. This role focuses on the rehabilitation of children with Severe Acute Malnutrition, ensuring proper medical treatment and nutrition counseling.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive medical examinations, monitor vital signs, and administer medicines according to protocols.
• Prepare and deliver therapeutic feeds and appropriate medications for malnourished children.
• Monitor daily nutritional status of severely malnourished children as prescribed.
• Provide nutrition counseling and health education to mothers and caretakers.
• Maintain adequate stock of drugs and nutrition supplies, ensuring pre‑positioned inventory.
• Collaborate with the Stabilization Centre (SC) doctor and Nutrition Manager on operational issues.
• Update medical and nutritional records daily and compile statistical reports on admissions, outcomes, and supply consumption.
• Support capacity building and technical guidance for staff in the SC and OTP.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a degree in Nursing.
• Minimum 24 months of experience in clinical nutrition or related field.
• Ability to follow national and international protocols for Severe Acute Malnutrition.
• Strong communication skills for counseling mothers and caretakers.
• Capacity to provide technical support and training to health staff.
