Network Engineering Lead

About the role

The Network Engineering Lead will spearhead the design, implementation, operational management, performance tuning, and strategy for Fieldbase's LTE infrastructure and upcoming 5G network expansion. This role requires deep expertise in Mobile Core Networks, combined with strong knowledge of Radio Access Networks (RAN), Transport Networks, IP/MPLS, Microwave Systems, OSS/BSS Integration, and Network Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a scalable, secure EPC/5G Core architecture.
• Lead RF planning, dimensioning, and deployment of Band 40 (2.3 GHz) TDD‑LTE infrastructure, including macro cells, small cells, and base stations.
• Architect hybrid backhaul routing using Starlink satellite and terrestrial fiber for resilient low‑latency connectivity.
• Evaluate, select, and manage OEM partners (e.g., Nokia, Ericsson, Huawei, OpenRAN) for core, RAN, and SIM/eSIM provisioning.
• Oversee site surveys, tower installations, power systems, and equipment commissioning for regional rollouts.
• Ensure compliance with NCC guidelines, spectrum limits, and data‑privacy regulations.
• Establish NOC workflows, KPIs, monitoring tools, and SLAs to achieve 99.99 % uptime.
• Continuously optimize RF parameters, core routing, and QoS policies.
• Serve as Level‑3 escalation point for core failures, security incidents, or performance degradation.
• Build and lead the Network Engineering function, recruiting and mentoring engineers across Core, RAN, Transport, NOC, and Field Engineering.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of telecommunications engineering experience, including tenure with a Mobile Network Operator.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on Core Network Engineering (LTE EPC and/or 5G Core).
• Proven experience in RF planning, frequency planning, cell site dimensioning, and TDD‑LTE Band 40 deployment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop technical teams.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronic, Computer Engineering, or related field.
