NCD Specialist

About the role

The Non‑Communicable Disease (NCD) Specialist will lead the integration of NCD and mental health services into primary health care packages delivered by Kalthum Foundation for Peace. The role focuses on ensuring high‑quality medical care for patients and improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations in North‑East Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Screen patients, conduct consultations, prescribe treatment, and arrange referrals as needed.
• Lead implementation of NCD integration across supported health facilities, following programmatic guidance and monitoring tools.
• Provide technical and organizational support, training, on‑the‑job supervision and clinical mentorship to NCD clinicians.
• Ensure accurate data collection, encoding, and timely reporting to the Health Management Assistant.
• Monitor availability of materials, assist with NCD data collection, and prepare weekly/monthly activity reports.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• At least five years of relevant public health experience, preferably in emergency or humanitarian settings.
• Valid practicing nursing license.
• Strong leadership, teamwork, and ability to work under stress.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Basic internet and computer literacy.
